Publication Ethics Statement

Darunnajah in Language (DIL) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. The journal follows internationally recognized principles of responsible scholarly publishing and is committed to ensuring that all parties involved in the publication process—authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher—act with integrity, transparency, fairness, and accountability.

DIL does not tolerate plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, inappropriate authorship, manipulation of the peer-review process, citation manipulation, or any other form of academic or publication misconduct.

1. Principles of Publication Ethics

All manuscripts submitted to DIL must comply with the principles of originality, academic integrity, transparency, responsible authorship, and ethical research conduct.

The journal expects authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher to uphold the following principles:

Honesty and accuracy in research and reporting.
Originality and proper acknowledgment of sources.
Transparency in authorship and contributions.
Confidentiality throughout the peer-review process.
Disclosure and appropriate management of conflicts of interest.
Respect for research participants and applicable ethical standards.
Responsible use of research data and supporting materials.
Accountability for published scholarly work.

2. Responsibilities of Authors

Authors are responsible for ensuring that submitted manuscripts meet the journal's ethical and academic requirements.

Authors must:

Submit only original work that has not been published elsewhere.
Not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to another journal.
Ensure that all data, findings, and research procedures are reported accurately.
Properly acknowledge and cite the ideas, data, words, and works of others.
Avoid plagiarism, self-plagiarism, fabrication, and falsification.
Ensure that all individuals listed as authors have made substantial contributions to the research or manuscript.
Obtain approval from all listed authors before submission.
Disclose any relevant conflicts of interest.
Provide information about funding sources where applicable.
Obtain appropriate ethical approval and informed consent when research involves human participants or identifiable personal data.
Correctly disclose the use of artificial intelligence or generative AI tools when such use is substantive and relevant to manuscript preparation or research.
Cooperate with the editorial team in responding to questions concerning the integrity of the manuscript.

Authors remain responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of their published work.

3. Authorship and Contribution

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial contributions to the conception, design, execution, analysis, or interpretation of the research and who have participated in drafting or critically revising the manuscript.

All authors should approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission and publication.

Individuals who have contributed to the work but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be appropriately acknowledged where applicable.

DIL does not permit:

Guest authorship – listing individuals who have not made a substantial contribution.
Gift authorship – granting authorship as a favor or based on position or status.
Ghost authorship – excluding individuals who made substantial contributions.

Any changes to authorship after submission must be justified and approved by all authors and the editorial office.

4. Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for ensuring that manuscripts are handled fairly, confidentially, and according to appropriate scholarly standards.

Editors must:

Evaluate manuscripts objectively based on academic quality, relevance, originality, and methodological rigor.
Ensure that editorial decisions are not influenced by the authors' nationality, institutional affiliation, gender, ethnicity, religion, political views, or other personal characteristics.
Select qualified and independent reviewers.
Maintain confidentiality during the review process.
Manage conflicts of interest appropriately.
Protect the integrity of the peer-review process.
Take reasonable action when ethical concerns or allegations of misconduct arise.
Correct the scholarly record when errors or misconduct are confirmed.

Editors should not use unpublished information from submitted manuscripts for personal research or professional advantage.

5. Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers contribute to the quality and integrity of the journal by providing independent and constructive evaluations.

Reviewers must:

Maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
Evaluate manuscripts objectively and fairly.
Provide constructive and evidence-based comments.
Identify relevant sources that may have been overlooked when appropriate.
Avoid personal criticism of authors.
Disclose any potential conflict of interest.
Decline the review if they lack sufficient expertise or cannot complete the review within the agreed timeframe.
Not use unpublished information obtained through peer review for personal or professional benefit.
Inform the editor of any suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabrication, falsification, or other ethical concerns.

6. Plagiarism and Similarity

DIL considers plagiarism and other forms of inappropriate appropriation of intellectual work to be serious forms of publication misconduct.

Submitted manuscripts may be screened using appropriate similarity-detection tools. A manuscript may be rejected or returned for revision when substantial unattributed similarity, plagiarism, or other forms of academic misconduct are identified.

Similarity results are evaluated contextually by the editorial team and are not necessarily treated as evidence of misconduct solely on the basis of a similarity percentage.

7. Duplicate and Redundant Publication

Authors must not submit or publish substantially the same research in more than one journal.

If substantial overlap with previously published or submitted work is identified, the editorial team may investigate the matter and take appropriate action, including rejection, correction, or retraction where necessary.

8. Fabrication and Falsification

DIL strictly prohibits:

Fabrication: inventing data, results, participants, sources, or research procedures.
Falsification: manipulating research materials, methods, data, images, results, or reporting in a way that misrepresents the research.

Any confirmed case of fabrication or falsification may result in rejection, withdrawal, correction, or retraction of the affected publication.

9. Conflicts of Interest

Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial, personal, professional, institutional, or other relationships that could reasonably be perceived as influencing the research, review, or editorial decision.

Editors will take appropriate measures to manage disclosed conflicts of interest and maintain the independence and fairness of the publication process.

10. Research Involving Human Participants

Research involving human participants must comply with applicable ethical principles and institutional or national requirements.

Where appropriate, authors should provide information concerning:

Ethical approval or review;
Informed consent;
Participant confidentiality;
Data protection;
Permission for recording or publication of identifiable information.

Authors must take appropriate measures to protect the rights, privacy, safety, and dignity of research participants.

11. Use of Artificial Intelligence

DIL recognizes the increasing use of artificial intelligence and generative AI technologies in research and scholarly communication.

AI tools may be used responsibly for purposes such as language improvement, translation assistance, data processing, coding support, or other legitimate research activities, provided that their use does not compromise academic integrity.

AI tools cannot be listed as authors because they cannot assume responsibility for the content of a scholarly publication.

Authors remain fully responsible for all content submitted to the journal, including content generated or assisted by AI.

Authors should disclose substantive use of generative AI tools when required by the journal's applicable AI policy. Authors must also verify AI-assisted content and ensure that AI tools do not introduce fabricated information, inaccurate references, plagiarism, or other forms of scholarly misconduct.

12. Data Integrity and Reproducibility

Authors are expected to maintain accurate research records and, where appropriate and ethically permissible, make relevant research data, instruments, materials, or analytical procedures available to support transparency and reproducibility.

Restrictions involving privacy, confidentiality, intellectual property, cultural rights, or other legitimate considerations should be clearly explained where applicable.

13. Corrections, Retractions, and Expressions of Concern

DIL is committed to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the published scholarly record.

The journal may publish:

Corrections when significant errors affect the accuracy or interpretation of a published work.
Retractions when a publication is found to contain serious errors, unreliable findings, plagiarism, research misconduct, or other circumstances that invalidate the scholarly record.
Expressions of Concern when substantial concerns exist but an investigation has not yet reached a definitive conclusion.

Editorial action will be taken in accordance with the nature and severity of the issue.

14. Complaints and Appeals

Authors may appeal an editorial decision when they believe that the decision resulted from a significant procedural error, misunderstanding, or inappropriate evaluation.

Complaints concerning editorial conduct, peer review, authorship, publication ethics, or other matters should be submitted to the journal's editorial office with sufficient supporting information.

The editorial team will review complaints fairly and confidentially and will take appropriate action based on the available evidence.

15. Publisher's Responsibilities

CV. Nexus Edu Global, as the publisher of DIL, supports the editorial independence of the journal and is committed to maintaining ethical and transparent publishing practices.

The publisher will cooperate with the editorial team in addressing ethical concerns, correcting the scholarly record, and taking appropriate action in cases of confirmed publication misconduct.

The publisher does not interfere with editorial decisions regarding the acceptance or rejection of manuscripts based on commercial, political, or personal interests.

16. Commitment to Academic Integrity

Darunnajah in Language (DIL) is committed to fostering a scholarly environment based on integrity, transparency, fairness, and respect for academic standards. All parties involved in the publication process share responsibility for protecting the quality and credibility of the scholarly record.

Where allegations of misconduct arise, DIL will assess the available evidence carefully and take appropriate action to protect authors, reviewers, readers, and the integrity of published research.
